nesting frenzy

I have been in a nesting frenzy these past few weeks.
My to do list is forever long, and I have been working feverishly to check everything off the list before Coco comes to join us.

I've realized recently that I am looking to the arrival of little Coco as the end of my
ability to get anything done:)

I came to this realization about a week ago when I took a look at my list and saw that it is filled
with things I have been meaning to do for years, but for one
reason or another, I haven't gotten to.
I also realized that our summer break has turned into a lame stressful time because of me, and that just isn't right.

So, I reluctantly removed a few items from the list, and reminded myself
that, although babies are a lot of work, and I may not be
able to get to everything right away after she is born,
I will be able to accomplish things at some point again in the future.

I spent all last week going through baby clothes, organizing, getting rid of some, washing and drying, finding places to put Coco's clothes, organizing closets to make it all fit, then folding and putting the clothes and accessories away in their new designated spots.  With such a task, the rest of our house was sadly neglected, and we are still working this week to recover!

These cuties have been very excited about parts of the process- ooooohing and aaaaaahing over every little baby outfit- that part has been so fun!  They each get so excited about the tiny little accessories as well- Gibbs will get so excited he can hardly contain himself and he will have to snuggle into my belly and exclaim that Coco is just so cute and tiny!

Aside from the tedious nesting items, there have been some very cute and fun ones.
We made Coco a few snuggly blankets,
and the sweet branch with birds on it is a little mobile idea I dreamed of doing before Lu was born.  When I told her about it, she was absolutely thrilled, and helped motivate me to get it done.  The birds are made from fabric from her baby blanket, one that I have more fabric for to make her a bedspread, yet another item on the list, but it may have to wait still.
Baby shoes.  I honestly am terrible about putting shoes on babies, but these were so adorable I couldn't resist trying to make a few- and they really aren't that difficult- and oh so cute.  You should hear Gibbs exclaim over these little cuties!
My lovely neighbor helped me to paint the armoire that is now Coco's clothing closet- I love the blue- the girls room is going to be a lovely bright room with an assortment of darling colors!  I love it.
And a container for each different kind of clothing- the dollar store saved us here.  I was looking around, and on my small budget I was feeling a bit hopeless at how much i was going to have to spend, but the dollar store had some great options- saved me a bundle!

So now, if I can just get my house cleaned and get caught up on laundry
I think we can take it easy
and do what Summer is meant for,
play, bask in the sun, go to the park... anything that isn't tedious:)

And I feel nearly ready for little Coco to come join our little ( or I guess getting rather big now ) family!
