Density and Fossils
We studied about fossils and how they are created by earth compacting around something like bones of an animal, or plantlife, and over time the item becomes part of the earth and a rock version of it is created. We created some of our own fossils using plaster.
We also studied a little bit about density this last week. We layered liquids on top of each other that were each less dense than the one before, and then they just sat on top of each other in their layers. It was really quite fascinating. We then dropped some things into the liquids to see if the items were less dense than any of the liquids.
