little me and a big wall of rock

Spring Break 2014

We have been in school for quite a few years now, but we have very rarely taken advantage of our week off for Spring Break.

This year was different:)

We headed down to Goblin Valley to enjoy some quality time outdoors,

and hang with some cousins!

The kids were all incredibly thrilled to have endless rocks and mountains to climb.

Seriously though- they would not stay on the ground:)

We also visited this incredible slot canyon- 

Absolutely breathtaking.

I was so in awe at the towering walls of rock on either side of us.

Amazed by the layers of different color, and even different textures-

some layers very jagged, while others looked like a bunch of round rocks all clumped together.

The years and variations in weather, temperature and so forth that made those formations into what they are today- it was exhilarating while also humbling to reflect on.

I couldn't help but feel like my own existence and life is such a small thing in comparison to the vast myriad of other things and lives going on.

While I wake up each day and tend to all I have in front of me,

rocks are forming,

or eroding.

trees and plant life are all growing,

or decaying

minerals and elements are reacting and changing,

carbon dioxide converting to oxygen,

water falling from the sky,

and evaporating back into the atmosphere.

And all the while people are being born,

growing old,

getting sick,

and healing,

and even dying.

It's all happening.

And God knows it all.

God is aware and every last bit of it.

And that to me is incredible.

Incredible daddy toting our little bundle the whole way:)

These lovelies amaze me.

Every. Single. Day.

So thrilled to be their momma.
