we cleaned the sink

My heart was overwhelmed the other day at the responses to my post. I began thinking about all the great things I have in life
-such good and wonderful friends and family
-fantastic kids who tell me that they love me, and other great things that make me laugh
(like the fact that i have a mustache i should do something about!)
-a dear and amazingly wonderful husband who wants nothing more than my happiness
-good health
- a home
-opportunities to be in school and have our family taken care of...
the list really goes on and on
and remembering that list certainly helps me out of the funk i can get myself into from time to time!

but back to that day... friday- when i was still deep in the funk

i vented on my blog...
texted with a friend...
tried with little success to get on top of things around my house...

then Matt came home, we had a good dinner, some fun as a family and put the kids to bed.

Matt asked me if i wouldn't mind cleaning myself up a bit-
go from "mom me" to "me me"
and i gladly accepted the invitation.

i changed my clothes, did my hair, and put on a little make-up
and actually felt much better
(amazing what a little basic care for oneself does for one's attitude)

we settled down with a good old 80's movie when there was a knock at the door.

I opened it to find my friend Janalee!

she came to take me on a little girls night getaway!

we hit up Angie's
and cleaned the sink!
a giant bowl- or rather, mini sink of ice cream between the two of us.
it was great,
and quite impressive if i do say so myself.
i'll be adding that to my list of accomplishments!
we even got the sticker to prove it

(i had a great picture for this post on my phone, but i am tech- challenged, and after futile attempts to get it onto my blog- i decided to take a picture from the one electronic devise i somewhat know)

oh Kiersten, I miss you. I am glad you were able to get out of the house. Sweet Matt, that was a good idea of his! It really does help to take care of ourselves. Love ya.

yeah- Janalee had arranged the outing with him- he just knew i'd rather go out not looking as frumpy as i was!

dude know the feeling. It's time for me to step it up and be my husbands lady again instead of an overworked, unpacking mommy of 2!
