"The Sisterhood...
...of the Post Pregnancy Pants"
This is a story you may have heard before- you may have even been part of a story just like it.
This particular story takes place here, in my back yard, with myself and some other fine ladies I have recently gotten to know. We were sitting outside, watching our kids play and talking about whatever came up, when I began to complain (something I regretfully do way too often) about my post pregnancy body, and the dilemma I have of not being able to fit into any of my pants, and now being in school- not having any money for a great new wardrobe! The ladies were very sympathetic, as many of them had experienced the same dilemma after their babies.
A few days went by and we were right back outside when one of the ladies asked me if I would like to borrow some post pregnancy pants she had in her closet. I was so touched that she would think to help me out with my silly dilemma, and gratefully accepted her offer.
I soon found the pants on my doorstep after returning from a day out, and now have three pairs of pants to add to the two of my own I fit into.
Now, this story may seem dull, trivial and even silly to share, but it got me thinking about all the incredible ladies in my life who have helped me, inspired me and shaped me into the person I am today.
There are so many of you- too many to name and thank for everything- you've let me borrowe things like clothing, books, baby loot and more from you, learned how to cook, sew, create, share, serve and even love as well as so much, much more from you. Whether I've known you all my life or even just a few short weeks, you've touched me in some way and I am grateful for that. So thank you...
